Lois Helm Cole, 92, died on Sunday, August 11, 2019.

Lois was born on August 23, 1926 in Indianapolis IN. She attended Nora County School and Broad Ripple High School. She attended MacMurray College and later transferred to Indiana University where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work. She worked in Indianapolis at the Children’s Bureau, where she placed children in adoptive homes. Later she worked for the Benjamin Rose Institute in Cleveland OH where she assisted senior citizens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Helm and Flora Mary Prange Helm, and her husband Lewis Eugene (Gene) Cole.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Gary Cole (Brenda) of Avon Lake OH, Leah Trent (Rodger) of Ronceverte WV, and Brian Cole (Bonnie) of Charlotte NC, two grandchildren Justin and Sara, nieces Sue Sabo (Reiner), Mary Mertz (Rob), and nephews Richard Cole, David Cole (Debbie), and John Sabo (Barb).
Lois and Gene, who were married for 50 years, loved to travel. Lois was pleased that Gene worked for TWA, as that allowed them to travel to all 50 states, 7 continents, 10 Canadian provinces, and 38 countries. Lois lived in Cleveland and Lakewood OH until she moved to Lewisburg WV in 2013. She loved her family and her church.
She loved helping others, was very fond of animals, especially dogs, and she loved classical music. She was a member of Ronceverte Presbyterian Church.
