Ruth F. Riley
Feb. 3, 1918 - Jan. 4, 2013
Ruth was born February 3 1918 at Durbin to the late Clarence Edward and Edith Arbogast Flynn.
Ruth was a 1936 Green Bank High School graduate and a Marshall University graduate, she taught in one room school houses in Pocahontas County at Oak Hill, Wesley Chapel, Kerr and Old Lick before teaching first grade at Cass Elementary and then Green Bank Elementary, where she retired in 1973. She was a member of Cass Chapter 124 Eastern Star, joining on March 7, 1950. She was also a member of the Arbovale United Methodist Church.
Other than her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband June Riley and a sister, Evelyn Sutton.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Riley DePue and husband Sam of Athens; son, Edward Lear Riley and wife Charlotta of Mill Point; grandchildren, Joe Riley and wife Sarah of Mill Point, Sara Riley Boothe and husband Oka of Princeton, Aaron DePue and wife Shannon of Morgantown and Andy DePue of Princeton; great grandchildren, Kayla, James, Silas, Hazel, Isabella Blayne and Avalynn.
Services will be 1:00 PM on Monday January 7, 2013 at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home with Rev. David Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will follow at the Arbovale Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday January 6, 2013 from 5pm – 7pm at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home.
