Jannet Wood Jeffries

Jannet Wood Jeffries, 95, of the Richland’s area of Lewisburg passed away Tuesday Morning, July 17, 2012 at Greenbrier Manor in Fairlea.
Mrs. Jeffries was born August 14, 1916 in Caldwell, WV and was the daughter of the late Albert and Ida Bell DeHart Wood.

Jannet was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the Women of the Church; a charter member of the Richlands CEO’s; Lewisburg Home and Garden Club and a master floral arranger, having won numerous ribbons and awards at the W. VA. State Fairs.

Other than her parents, Jannet is preceded in death by her husband James Robert Jeffries; sisters, Anna Mae White, Lessie Erwin and Eva Wiley and brothers, Luther Wood, Frank Wood and Delmar Wood.

Jannet leaves behind a sister in law; Ora Mae (James) Folden of Delmont, PA.; 14 Nieces and Nephews and a host of Great and Great-great Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be Friday July 20, 2012 beginning at 2:00 PM at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Richlands with the Rev. Emory Hanna officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of the services on Friday.

In lieu of flowers it is suggested that memorial contributions be made to either Calvary United Methodist Church, c/o Ruth Sweet, 220 S. Jefferson St., Lewisburg, WV 24901 or to Calvary UMC Cemetery Association, c/o Harold C. Ryder, Rt. 2 Box 321, Lewisburg, WV 24901

  I cut the grass and worked in the flower gardens at the Jefferies home when I was a kid. I still remember Mrs. Jefferies' kindness. kool-aid, and cookies. I miss tnose days. So sorry for your loss.
