John Raymond O'Neil

John was a lifelong resident of White Sulphur Springs and a devoted member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. John retired from the Greenbrier Hotel after 42 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 75 years, Elizabeth Austin O’Neil and daughter Barbara McCamant, sister Mary Elizabeth O’Neil Robinson and brothers Paul, Vincent and Dennis O’Neil.
John was a devoted, caring and loving father. He is survived by children; Mike (Brenda) O’Neil of Charleston, WV, Sharon (Eddie) Harrah of Newport News, VA., Peggy O’Neil of Herndon, VA. and Pat (Teresa) O’Neil of White Sulphur Springs; brother Leo O’Neil of White Sulphur Springs; sisters Margaret O’Neil Huff of White Sulphur Springs and Nancy O’Neil Mullen of Charleston, WV; nine grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday July 16, 2012, with a Mass of Christian Burial as St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 325 Main Street, White Sulphur Springs, WV. Father Chapin Engler of St. Charles and Father John McGinnity of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hot Springs, VA, will be officiating. Interment will follow the Mass at Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Sunday July 15, 2012 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV, with Rosary following visitation.
The family would like to thank the local hospice organization and the White Sulphur Springs Center for their care of John.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to any children’s cancer research center of their choice.
