Richard was born July 21, 1946 in Victor. He was the son of the late Raymond Bays and Eloise Bays Blume.
Those preceding him in death are his father, Raymond Bays; his mother, Eloise Bays Blume; a brother Jerry Bays in 2000 and a sister-in-law, Barbara Bays.
Richard was a graduate of Ansted High School, He served 2 years in the US Army, He was a dedicated employee of Elkem Metals, he retired in 2000 with 30 years of faithful service, He was an avid coon hunter.
Many thanks to Charleston Memorial Hospital MICU, Doctors and Nurses for their wonderful care of Dick and his family. Also a special thanks to all the caregivers that took such wonderful care of our brother. Especially to, Gloria Bays and Carmen Coleman.
Our beloved brother will be very sadly missed by his survivors; a sister, Sharon and Mark Banks; brothers, Raymond Bays, David Blume and his wife Diane; nieces Mitzy Nugent & Johnny, Samantha Blume; nephew, Steven Blume; a great niece and nephew ,Jordan and Andrew; several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Friday, July 13, 2012 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Rev. Allen Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8pm at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted.
