Clarence Garland Boggs
Dec. 28, 1924 - May. 14, 2012
Born December 28, 1924 at White Sulphur Springs, he was a son of the late Henry Clarence and Muriel Helena Boggs.
Garland was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of White Sulphur Springs, was a U. S. Marine Corps Veteran and served our country during WWII. He worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 37 years. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, family and friends at his retreat, the “Hickory Springs Hunt Club.” He was an avid golfer who enjoyed many of his retirement years living between Florida and West Virginia. He was a man of honor and integrity, calm and easygoing, but under his quiet demeanor was a Godly man with much wisdom to share. He was a good listener who gave sound advice and he worked his whole life to make sure his loved ones were taken care of.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Charles Boggs and Edward Arnold Boggs.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Hayes Boggs; three daughters, Linda (Mike) Miller of Crestview, FL, Inga (Danny) Seldomridge of Frankford, WV and Susan (Doug) Dodd of Lewisburg, WV; two sons, Duane (Vicki) Boggs of White Sulphur Springs, WV and Robert Boggs and companion Debbie Arnold of Rupert, WV; a step-daughter, Sharon (Jack) Dean of White Sulphur Springs, WV; 6 grandchildren, Brian Boggs, Brent Boggs, Mike & Kevin Miller, Mendy Paxton and Brad Seldomridge; two step-grandsons, David and Jason Vandevander; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Bussard of White Sulphur Springs, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
