Dec. 28, 1924 - May. 14, 2012

Clarence Garland Boggs, 87, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Born December 28, 1924 at White Sulphur Springs, he was a son of the late Henry Clarence and Muriel Helena Boggs.

Garland was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of White Sulphur Springs, was a  U. S. Marine Corps Veteran and served our country during WWII. He worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring after 37 years. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, family and friends at his retreat, the “Hickory Springs Hunt Club.” He was an avid golfer who enjoyed many of his retirement years living between Florida and West Virginia. He was a man of honor and integrity, calm and easygoing, but under his quiet demeanor was a Godly man with much wisdom to share. He was a good listener who gave sound advice and he worked his whole life to make sure his loved ones were taken care of.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Charles Boggs and Edward Arnold Boggs.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Hayes Boggs; three daughters, Linda (Mike) Miller of Crestview, FL, Inga (Danny) Seldomridge of Frankford, WV and Susan (Doug) Dodd of Lewisburg, WV; two sons, Duane (Vicki) Boggs of White Sulphur Springs, WV and Robert Boggs and companion Debbie Arnold of Rupert, WV; a step-daughter, Sharon (Jack) Dean of White Sulphur Springs, WV; 6 grandchildren, Brian Boggs, Brent Boggs, Mike & Kevin Miller, Mendy Paxton and Brad Seldomridge; two step-grandsons, David and Jason Vandevander; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Bussard of White Sulphur Springs, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in White Sulphur Springs, with Rev. Ben Gurley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs.

I just want you to know that I'll be pyaring for you, and I believe the Lord has some truly amazing things in store for you Bruce. I pray that you won't miss a single opportunity that Jesus places in your path, and that by his grace you'll stay on the awesome road of recovery that he's led you to; and that (also) by his grace and mercy he'll use you to help others find that same road.
